Hello everyone,

This is from Erick, a fellow brother and doctor in Nicaragua. A reporter from La Prensa, the national newpaper in Nica interviewed me about the medical campaign and orphange. A very nice article appeared and is on the WEB. It is in the Aug 12 edition if you want to find it.

The link to the paper is below.

Dear Brothers in Christ!

Thank you so much for your work in the Lord. Our group was very excited and happy with the campaign. We hope much was accomplished for the Lord in the Jinotepe.

I will send the report for MINSA very soon. Mario Pineda has the final
totals and his wife is having surgery on her gallbladder.

When I brought the computer for Juan, I donated a printer, scanner and digital camera. I understand that the monitor and computer were stolen but is the scanner and camera still available? The purpose of these were for the use in ANY way of the orphage or work of the church in the area. Certainly, Cesar or Jorge could use them. Perhaps the scanner could go to Jorge's until we are able to replace Juan's computer. When the new house is secure, we will work on a computer. Also we hope to have cable internet for the farm. Can Jorge use the scanner and camera for his work in San Marcos as needed.

I have submitted some final questions on the orphage house to Joaquin Molina. We hope to make final decision this weekend.

Hilda Sutton and Charla Jordan are translating the documents for the
foundation. They save it is very difficult and can only translate about 1
page a day. I am sorry for this delay. I will send comments to the
committee in Nica as soon as we review it here. I am estimated about 1 week.

Thanks to God in Jesus Christ for all your work in His Name. May the Lord bless us as we begin the orphanage. Juan and Aracely should begin preparation immediately for taking in of the children.

Sincerely,

Kent King, M.D.

Greatings,

The following bid from Alex's uncle, Joaquin. I am forwarding to him the following questions. His bid as we understand it includes full floor tile, not in Rodolfo's last bid of $40,000. I think the difference is enough for us to consider. Please forward any questions to me or Alex ASAP. We hope to finalize this and get started.

Joaquin,

We have the following questions for you to consider.

1. Are the wall in this bid made of large rock and small bricks both or
only large rock?
2. Does this price include the kitchen sink and plumbing
3. How much more for a plychem roof instead of Zinc.
4. Do these windows open for airflow?
5. What about iron coverage for the outside of the windows.
6. When could you begin construction?

We also have a bid for a septic system that is estimated to work for the first house and pavillon. Size is 120ft deep 8ft x 8ft wide Price US $4,000.

What is your opinon about the size and cost of this septic system?

Thank you for your help!

In Christ our King
Kent King, M.D.

To Jorge Guillen and Rodolfo
(Real Estate Agent)

First of all, I thank God for both of you and your diligent work for the orphanage, "Los Ninos del Rey". I am confident in the Lord that He desires us to be successful and will bless us and give us progress in the direction He wants us to go. I pray always for His guidance.

I apologize for any delay in returning your email. I have been gone for the last 4 days and also working furiously to bring two sick children to the U.S. for surgery. One case is urgent.

I am very excited about the property in Jinotepe. I have talked tonight with bro. Kenny Hinds, in charge of construction of the children's home and his only concern about the property was the poor road access. I understand it has been repaired but we do not understand in what manner. A very large tree and its roots engulf one part of the road. Anyway, I wanted his approval before going to the elders about purchasing the property. He stated by phone tonight that he is otherwise please with the property and recommends making an offer.

I visited today by phone with elder Jerry Montgomery. The current balance of the orphanage fund is $20,300. It is possible that another $3,000 to $4,000 is available for the fund. We had several expenditures in July that were not anticipated. As you know, we did not expect to have to purchase land and materials were already purchased to proceed with construction in July. However, due to a local situation, we felt it best to build the
orphanage on property owned by the church of Christ and not a foundation. We are working diligently to finish financial accounting and determine the total amount available to the orphanage at this time. This will likely be
done tomorrow night.

I have ask the elders of the Chisholm Trail Church of Christ (Duncan Church of Christ, INC.) in their meeting tomorrow, Wed, Sept 4th to consider allowing us to make an offer to purchase the property. I greatly respect their opinion. They are compassionate and wise in the Lord, wanting to do His will only and concerned greatly about our work in Nicaragua. I will
respect their advise and opinion and not proceed without their consent.

Therefore, the following is required for me to request their approval and they may add additional requirements if they recommend proceeding:

1. Exact amount, total to owner, agents, lawyers, government taxes, title transfer and all other expenses.

2. Guarantee and notary of the amount by the seller and her agent of the total amount required. If additional bills, taxes, etc. are discovered after the transaction, they are the responsibility of the seller or her agent and not the church.

3. Guarantee/notary of documentation from the government of Nicaragua that the title is clean and in no dispute and that all taxes have been paid and no outstanding taxes or bills are remaining.

If the elders consent to proceeding, I will personally come to Nicaragua, possibly bringing the money or down-payment with me. All arrangements and documents would need to be available. We would place the down-payment in escrow (trust) with a neutral party and when all documents are satisfied,
the balance of the selling price would be given to the seller, likely by bank transfer. I would like to set up an account in a bank of Jorge Guillen choice for further financial arrangements regarding the orphange.

4. I will make arrangements with the government of Nicaragua for Jorge Guillen to be our legal representative for the orphanage/Church in Duncan as necessary is approved by our elders. The elders/deacons of the ministry feel strongely that the property/house/assets be owned by the church and an
organization of the committe (Guillen, Hernandez, Calero and possibly others) manage and administer the orphanange under their directions. This can be arranged in the near future.

The following is my current understanding of the costs of purchasing the land:

Price to owner: $25,000
? Paper work fees $300
Taxes (4%) $1,000
Laywer fees $100
Bank transaction fee $50

Total: $26,450

We understand that all bills and taxes are up to date with no outstanding debts on the property and that the title is clean.

Given the large amount of the transaction, the fact the money was donated to the work of the Lord and we are in charge of it personally, and we are doing business in a foreign country, I hope you understand our precautions. It would be a tragedy on behalf of the church and the children we may be able to help it the money was lost or mishandled. Please understand our love and
great appreciation for your work so far on making the possible. God will bless you compassionate work beyond your comprehension. Please continue your faithful perserverance in obtaining this or other property for the orphanage.

Finally, I hope to coordinate if possible, my travel to Nicaragua to begin the purchase of the land (if approved by our elders) with the bringing of the two children back to Oklahoma. I have many responsibilities with my patients here and most importantly my family.

I hope to give you an answer on Thursday, Sept 5th, on whether we can make an offer on the property by email. I will write to Rodolfo and Jorge together to inform all. Continue your prayers and love for the Lord and God bless you all in your labor.

In Christ our brother eternally,

Kent T. King, M.D.
